I remember 6 years ago in 2002 when I gang up with Ivan and Cheen to write Java application on Kilobyte VM in the first Symbian 60 Nokia phone in Singapore. Those were fun times. Saw this article on Sun Microsystem's MicroVM. This VM has an even smaller footprint, with more components are pure Java. For devices more constraint like ID badges.
